The Children of House of Imported Hearts, Continued

Continuing with our week-long profiles of the children of House of Imported Hearts, today we meet Satria, one of the youngest children at the orphanage. We hope this window into the lives of orphaned children will give you a better understanding of the project and our efforts to raise money to support their education and future. “My name is Satria. I’m 3 years old now. I came from Surabaya. I love to sing and read picture books. My daily activity now is playing and reading books while waiting for my brothers and sisters come home from school. But I will go to school next year, with my brothers and sisters in the orphanage.I’m happy staying at the orphanage, although I just be here few months ago and I miss my mom sometimes. My mom works as a domestic helper in Surabaya, and I have many brother and sisters at home. Kristin is one of my sisters. We are very poor and often can’t afford buying food. That’s why our mom sent us to the orphanage, so we can go to school and when I grow up, I can start my own business and become a boss.”
